‘A good poem in The Rialto will do your reputation more good than a poorly circulated first volume.’ Peter Finch, Writers Monthly.
The Rialto is always looking for new poets and new poems.
You are very welcome to send your poems to be considered for publication.
Online and email submissions of your poetry will not be accepted.
Please send no more than six and include a stamped self addressed envelope for their return. Please ensure that the envelope is large enough (C5 is a useful size) and has sufficient postage for all your work. We prefer to return mss. If you really don’t want to see your poems again please say so clearly, but do note that they will not be shredded before being recycled. You must still include an s.s.a.e for our reply.
If you don’t live in the UK we will reply by email. This is a change of policy because several countries no longer sell IRCs. You still need to submit the poems by post.
A large number of poems arrive every week, so please note that you will have to wait at least twelve to sixteen weeks for yours to be read. The editor usually announces which month’s intake he is reading in our online Newsletter.
We don’t have a problem with you sending your poems to other magazines while you wait to hear from The Rialto. And the editor is happy to read new poems when you have them, i.e. you don’t have to wait a year before sending poems again…
We currently pay £20 per poem on publication.
It is a good idea to read The Rialto before sending any of your work: and an even better idea to become a subscriber.
For the time being articles and reviews will be commissioned.
Send your poems to THE EDITOR, THE RIALTO, PO BOX 309, AYLSHAM, NORWICH, NR11 6LN, ENGLAND
